Literally, it is a digital equivalent to a pen and paper plus some additional functionality. Pixia Overview

It sports a design philosophy that speaks more directly to the pencil-and-paper crowd by focusing on natural pencil shading techniques, as well as offering both bitmap and vector tools for drawing. Other apps such as Sketchbook and Manga Studio either have very minimal indicators for symmetry or the option. Various raster drawing tools in this program are implemented, such as the Airbrush, Watercolor, Pen, and Marker, which can all be easily customized. This art program is neat, the pallet wheel is crisp, and the brushes are nifty too especially the sizing and opacity rate. I oftentimes fall back, as evidenced by my time using other applications, on Pixia, and find it easy, yet quite efficient to use.

With this application, you can do things from sketching, linearising, painting, and even animations. The program could be optimized a bit better to improve performance, more advanced transform tools and or other image editing options, etc. It surpasses Photoshop, GIMP, ArtRage, and even SAI in terms of brush availability and versatility. This program is incredible, arguably the best digital painting program I’ve ever used.

Pixia was attempting to be the more paperlike and analog alternative to Adobe’s Illustrator or similar offerings. It’s hard to use when you are just introduced to digital art, but this software is so smooth and clean. It shows all the different pens, pencils, etc. Its features are more than you can count and are all labeled neatly. Overall, Pixia is a must-have for anyone designer or anime maker.
